STONE SOUR's COREY TAYLOR Slams Musicians With 'Great Cheekbones'
September 11, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor recently said that the band's hit song "Through Glass" was based on his reaction to watching MTV Europe and seeing "act after act of this inane, innocuous, plastic music." Taylor told Launch that the song really reflects his distaste with the way celebrities are marketed as music artists. "I can't like something just because it's on television," he said. "I can't like something just because it's this person, they're lit well and they have great cheekbones. And I'm just like, 'No, I don't get it, and I don't wanna get it.'If I don't feel it, then I push it away, and that's really what the song is about."
"Through Glass" is the first single from "Come What(ever) May", the recently released follow-up to STONE SOUR's 2002 self-titled debut.
The band is currently on the Family Values tour with KORN, DEFTONES, 10 YEARS and FLYLEAF, which pulls into Cincinnati, Ohio tomorrow (Tuesday, September 12).
STONE SOUR will play its first-ever show in Russia on October 18, at the RAMP Awards in Moscow. The event will precede a series of European dates for the group, after which it is scheduled to return to the U.S. and join DISTURBED on the Music As A Weapon tour.
